Hair Extensions in Chandler, AZ

What are hair extensions?

Hair extensions are synthetic or real human hair pieces attached to a person’s natural hair to add length, volume, and/or color to their hair. They are a popular way to change hairstyles and/or add length without having to wait for natural hair growth or through coloring or cutting.

Hair extensions come in a variety of styles, lengths, and colors to suit different hair types and preferences. So speak with your Bronde Blvd Salon stylist to discuss the best hair extensions for your personal hair.

How Do Hair Extensions Work?

Hair extensions are typically attached to a person’s natural hair in one of several ways. The method used often depends on the type of hair extensions, the desired style, and the individual’s hair type and preferences. Some extensions are clipped in, others taped in.

At Bronde Blvd Salon, we use our signature in-house line of weft hair extensions which are sewn into your natural hair near the root giving a more natural look. Bronde Blvd Hair lasts from 6 months to a year, with move-ups every six to eight weeks.

Once the extensions are attached, they can be styled and treated just like natural hair though some precautions should be taken to prevent damage to the extensions. Proper care for hair extensions is crucial to ensure that the extensions last as long as possible and do not damage the natural hair. This includes regular washing, conditioning, and brushing, as well as avoiding heat damage and using products designed for hair extensions.

Do Hair Extensions Work for Everyone?

Hair extensions are very commonly used and most people have hair that allows for hair extensions to work easily and naturally to lengthen the look of their hair. However, there are some whose hair may not be conducive to hair extensions or would be better served in another way.

Because everyone’s head of hair is different, we recommend calling for a complimentary consultation where you can meet with one of our salon experts and decide if hair extensions are right for you.

How Long Do Hair Extensions Last?

The lifespan of hair extensions depends on several factors, including the quality of the hair, the method of attachment, and how well they are cared for. In general, Bronde Blvd hair extensions last six months to a year with proper care.

To help extend the lifespan of hair extensions, it’s important to care for them properly. This includes using hydrating shampoo and conditioner, avoiding excessive heat styling, and brushing the extensions regularly to prevent tangles. It’s also important to follow any specific care instructions provided by the stylist who attached the extensions.

How to Wash and Maintain Hair with Extensions

Proper care of hair extensions is essential to ensure that they look great and last as long as possible. Here are some tips for caring for hair extensions:

Wash extensions regularly

Just like natural hair, extensions need to be washed regularly to keep them clean and healthy. Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner and avoid products that contain sulfates or alcohol, as these can dry out the hair and cause damage.

Avoid heat styling

Excessive heat can damage hair extensions, so it’s important to avoid using high heat when styling. If you must use heat, use a heat protectant spray and keep the heat at a low or medium setting (350 degrees).

Brush regularly

Use the Glow Beauty Brush or a wide-toothed comb to brush the extensions regularly. Start at the bottom and work your way up, being careful not to pull too hard on the hair.

Protect extensions when sleeping

Avoid going to bed with wet hair extensions, as this can cause tangles and matting. Instead, wrap the extensions in a silk or satin scarf or use a satin pillowcase to protect the hair while sleeping.

Avoid harsh chemicals

Hair extensions should not be exposed to harsh chemicals, such as chlorine or bleach, as these can damage the hair and cause discoloration. If you plan to swim, you may want to wear a swim cap or keep your hair out of the water.

Use specialized products

There are many products available that are specifically designed for hair extensions, such as leave-in conditioners and detangling sprays. Using these products can help keep your hair looking and feeling great.

We recommend Kevin Murphy or Unit products for your extensions.

Get regular maintenance

Depending on the type of extensions you use, it may be necessary to get them adjusted or reattached regularly. Your Bronde Blvd specialist will help you know when to come back in to have your extensions maintained.

Overall, proper care for hair extensions is similar to caring for natural hair, but there are some specific considerations to keep in mind. By following these tips and getting regular maintenance, you can help ensure that your hair extensions look great and last as long as possible.
